Sort Your Way To A Better Year

Here in the US, we’re slowly digging ourselves out of winter. It’s an exciting time - grass is starting to grow and trees beginning to bloom. As nature sorts itself out, we’re here to help you sort out your ExaVault account.

Assorted Sorting

You have a lot of important files in your account and sometimes it can be hard to wade through them all. Sorting the files is one simple and easy way to quickly find what you’re looking for.

To begin, click on the “Sort by” button. You’re defaulted to “Timeline”, which sorts by Date, grouped with indicators that say things like “This month.” You can also sort by Size and Type, which can also help on your quest to find the files.

The Advanced Search and Sort

Sorting is nice and all, but it can only show you what’s in the folder you are currently looking at. In order to expand your sort, we need to employ some search trickery. What we’re going to do is use the search in the top right of the web interface to list out all our files with a certain file extension, then sort them.

To see a list of all the PDFs in your account, type ".pdf" (without quotations). From there, you can easily sort them by size. Chain these two tips together and soon you may be crowned king or queen of Searchtopia*.

Spring Cleaning

If you’re anything like us, you have files in your account that have been in there for longer than you care to admit, which are simply taking up space.  Using the techniques described earlier, you can find the largest files in your account and remove them if they are no longer needed.

As always, if you have any questions for us, feel free to drop us a line at our support email, which is support@exavault.com. Keep on keeping on, ExaVaultians!
