May's under way, so that means it's time for an update on just what we've been up to here at ExaVault. April was a busy month for us, and we're pretty excited about our latest features. And when we get excited, we just have to share the news with you. We're givers, you see.
This month saw the launch of our new File Preview feature. That's right, now you can preview your image, PDF or Word files before you download them. To preview your file, either:
Click on the icon for a previewable file:
...or right-click on a previewable file and choose Preview from the popup menu:
From the preview display, you can view all the images in your folder, view all the pages of PDF and Word documents, or download a file.
A few months ago, we changed file drop shared folders to automatically file submissions under different sub-folders. Some of you loved of it, but not everyone. By popular demand, we're bringing back our classic file drop to provide a single folder for all of the submissions from your clients. For those of you managing dozens of submissions from various people, you can still enable the automatic directory structure of our enhanced file drop.
To choose between the settings:
What does this new option actually do, you ask? Well, if you have the option turned OFF, then all of the files uploaded by your clients will be placed into the same folder (the one you're sharing). Duplicate filenames will be renamed, so if someone uploads "lolcat.jpg" and someone else uploads the same file, you'll have both "lolcat.jpg" and "lolcat_01.jpg" in your folder.
If you have the option turned ON, then you've activated our enhanced mode. Each time someone uses your enhanced file drop to submit files, their files will be placed first within a folder matching their email address, and then within a folder that contains the message of their submission. This file drop setting is helpful if you need to easily track individual files with their submitter.
Got something you need to get off your chest? Is there just one more thing that would make SWFT the lol-cat's meow? Thoroughly excited by our Preview feature? Don't hold it inside!
