WebDrive

WebDrive allows you to open and edit server-based files without downloading the files. WebDrive uses a simple wizard to assign a network drive letter to ExaVault FTP/SFTP server. By connecting through a virtual drive you can access and edit files from the ExaVault account on your local PC.

Connecting and Synchronizing files with WebDrive

Supporting both SFTP and FTP/S, WebDrive is a secure FTP client.

WebDrive is an easy-to-use FTP client. With it, you don’t need to run a separate FTP program, because WebDrive becomes part of your Windows or Mac desktop. You can access files from within the applications that you use every day, or from the convenience of Windows Explorer or Mac Finder.

By mapping a network drive to ExaVault FTP/SFTP Servers, WebDrive lets you access each server as if it were a drive on your computer. You can even map unique drive letters to different folders on your server.

Supporting both SFTP and FTP/S, WebDrive is a secure FTP client. Stored passwords are also encrypted, to further improve security.

Set Up Offline Folders/Files

WebDrive does not sync files by default. Instead, the client accesses the files you want to open from the cloud, when you want to open them, live, using secure data transfer protocols. A temporary cache of just the files you have accessed is kept. The choice to enable syncing or offline mode caching of large portions of remote data should be managed with a balance of security and workflow in mind.

1. Launch WebDrive.

2. Configure/Connect a site that you would like to have folders/files available offline.

3. Click the down arrow icon to the right of the site you connected for “Choose files to make available offline” from the WebDrive interface.

4. On the “Manage Offline Files” page, click on either “Add Folder” or “Add File” at the top right to get started choosing folders and files to make available offline.

5. Select as many times as necessary to include all of the folders and files desired.
