Download-Only Sub-Accounts

ExaVault supports 'download-only' sub-accounts, which let your customers download (but not upload or delete) files.

Setting Up a Download-Only Sub-Account

An example of how to setup a download-only sub-account

Once you've established an account with us, here's what you need to do:

  1. Login to the Client Area.
  2. Click the Accounts link.
  3. Click on the 'Sub-Account Administration' link next to your FTP account.
  4. Click the 'Add New' sub-account link.

In the Sub-Account Administration page:

  1. Enter the user name for sub-account.
  2. Enter a password for your sub-account.
  3. Enter a directory restriction folder path for your sub-account. [Optional]
  4. Set the Permissions to Read Only.
  5. Set the File Visibility option to Show Files. However, if you would like the sub-account to only access files via direct links, then set the File Visibility option to Hide Files.
