FTP Drop-Box Sub-Accounts

ExaVault supports 'upload only' accounts, a.k.a. an 'FTP drop box'. You can use this if you need multiple customers to send files to you using the same account, and you don't want one customer looking at another customer's files.

Setting Up an FTP Drop-Box Sub-Account

An example of how to setup an FTP drop-box sub-account

Once you've established your account with us, here's what you need to do:

  1. Login to the Client Area.
  2. Click the Accounts link.
  3. Click on the Sub-Account Administration link next to your FTP account.
  4. Click the Add New sub-account link.

In the Sub-Account Administration page:

  1. Enter the user name for sub-account.
  2. Enter a password for your sub-account.
  3. Enter a directory restriction folder path for your sub-account. [Optional]
  4. Set the Permissions to Write Only.
  5. Set the File Visibility to Hide Files.

Now you can send the login information for this sub-account to your clients, and they'll be able to login and upload files, but not see or download other customer's files.
