At the bottom of the file list, you'll see a a series of number buttons. These control the number of folders and files that you'll see on a page.

If you have a folder with lots of files, the file list may spill onto different pages. Simply click the page number links at the bottom of the file list.

SWFT has four ways to sort items in the File Manager. Most of the sorting options may be sorted in an ascending sort (0-9;A-Z) or in a descending sort (Z-A;9-0).

Sorting by Timeline

The timeline sort is the default sort option in SWFT. A timeline sort is similar to a date sort, except that the dates grouped. The idea is that you can see the most recent files grouped together, followed by older files, and so on. Within each group, files are then sorted alphabetically. For example:

  1. Files that were uploaded today.
  2. Files that were uploaded this week.
  3. Files that were uploaded this month.
  4. Files that were uploaded more than one month ago.

Sorting by Size

Sorting by size will sort files based upon their file size. Currently, folder sizes are not sortable, so folders will be grouped together and sorted alphabetically.

Sorting by Date

Sorting by date is a classic date/time sort. Files and folders will be sorted by their “last modified” date and time. For example:

An ascending date sort would sort files with the oldest files first:

Name Last Modified Datetime
good-boys-girls-list.pdf 25 December 2008 00:01:35
bad-boys-girls-list.pdf 25 December 2008 00:01:36
easter-egg-hiding-places-2009.dxf 12 April 2009 16:20:00
clients (directory) 23 September 2011 00:46:34
thanksgiving-cornbread-stuffing.pdf 24 September 2011 09:42:16

A descending date sort would sort files and folders with the newest items first:

Name Last Modified Datetime
thanksgiving-cornbread-stuffing.pdf 24 September 2011 09:42:16
clients (directory) 23 September 2011 00:46:34
easter-egg-hiding-places-2009.dxf 12 April 2009 16:20:00
bad-boys-girls-list.pdf 25 December 2008 00:01:36
good-boys-girls-list.pdf 25 December 2008 00:01:35

Sorting by Name

Sorting by name is a classic alphabetic sort.

  • Folders will be grouped together and sorted alpha-numerically.
  • Files will be grouped together and sorted alpha-numerically.
