Using FTP Software

Using FTP Software

Essentially, you just need a few details to connect with nearly any desktop FTP client:

  • Host / Server Name: This is your ExaVault account name
  • Username: Enter your account username
  • Password: Enter your account password

For example:

  • Host Name: bobsmith.exavault.com
  • Username: bobsmith
  • Password: abc123

The hostname, username and password can be obtained from your account administrator.

Once you've entered these details, then you should be able to click a Connect button. If you see files and folders appear, then you are connected!

Transferring Files

Transferring files is also easy with a desktop FTP client. Generally speaking, you will see files in two panes:

  • One pane will be the files on your computer.
  • One pane will be the files on the server.
