We provide a number of ways to connect to your ExaVault account and upload/download data. The easiest thing to do is use our advanced web-based file manager, which we call SWFT. Read on for details on how to use that.
If you prefer desktop software, or have an existing work-flow you need to fit into, you may want to use a desktop FTP client. We have FTP client tutorials available for all popular software.
To upload or download files, you must first log in
- Browse to SWFT at https://swft.exavault.com/.
- Enter your user name and password.
- Click the login button.
Uploading files is a snap! Just click on the “Upload” button at the top of the File Manager view. If you would like to upload files into a specific folder, just select the “Upload to this folder” option from the actions menu found next to the folder.
To select files to upload:
- Click on the “select files to upload” button
- Select the file(s) you wish to upload
- Click the Open button.
The files you selected will be shown in the upload queue. Click the Start Upload button to upload the files to the server.
In order to upload files larger than 2GB in size, or to upload entire folder structures, you'll need to enable the Java uploader. If Java is installed and enabled on your computer, you'll see an option below the file selection area that says Enable Java to upload complete folders and large files. Set this option to ON, and continue choosing files to upload just as you normally would.
To download a file, just click on the file you wish to download. You'll see a dialog box asking you to save the file to a directory on your computer.
To download a folder, just simply select the “Download” option from the actions drop-down next to any folder. You'll see a dialog box – just as if you were downloading a file. The folder and all of its contents will be downloaded as a zip file.
